Good things are happening in my literary world!

I had the chance to read a brief portion of my novel at the Open Mic at Owl’s Nest Bookstore in Calgary on Wednesday. It was a great night with 14 readers there from every genre and type of fiction. We had playwrights, poets, horror writers, comedians, anything you can think of. It was glorious!

I was a bit nervous because I had decided to read a fairly gory battle scene. People seemed to like it! I was also glad to see that there were no young kids there. Whew… young kids and entrails don’t mix.

After approaching several different editors about giving my story a professional cleaning-up, I finally found someone who suits both me and my pocket book.

With great fear and trepidation, and the loss of a couple of fingernails, I submitted chapter one for review today. Let the compulsive email checking begin!
